Plymouth Hoe Wassail

Sunday, 12 January 2025, 3-5pm

On a sunny winter afternoon we met up in Plymouth Hoe's orchard for our take on the traditional Wassail Song with our pots, pans, drums and whistles to waken our sleeping fruit trees and scare away the evil spirits! Then it was over to the Hoe Bowling Club for mulled cider and apple juice -- this year supplied by Yarde Farm of Totnes -- with a side order of Morris dancing by the Old Town Twelves and some raucous singing by our local shanty group Seaweed in the Fruit Locker.
